Great Burial Reef

At GREAT BURIAL REEF, we combine the time-honored traditions of burial at sea with environmentally-inspired artificial reef technology. We build living ocean reefs and honor loved ones by placing sealed urns containing their cremated remains within the reef structures.
Our charter reef, Silvertooth Memorial Reef, is located 35 feet beneath the ocean’s surface, 1.8 miles west of Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida. We have begun accepting reservations; the first placement will be on March 3rd, 2008. Designs and permits are also underway for our next Memorial Reef in historic Naples, Florida.
